- Video: Alex Wurz gets behind the wheel of the Lexus LFA
Filed under: Coupe, Performance, Videos, Lexus
We can attest to the joys of driving the Lexus LFA, having spent several days this past fall becoming addicted to the 4.8-liter V10 and race-bred suspension. We aren’t the only ones who have developed an affection for the $400,000 Lexus supercar, though. Alex Wurz, former Formula 1 driver and two-time Le Mans winner, recently got behind the wheel of the LFA and seemed duly impressed.
Not one to just take the LFA out for a lazy drive, Wurz makes proper use of all 552 horsepower and 9,000 rpm running the Estoril Circuit in Portugal. After a few laps of pushing the supercar around the track, Wurz heaps praise on the LFA for its super-aggressive looks, neutral handling, and the sound of the downshifts from the V10.
If you want to see a video of the Lexus LFA being driven the way it was intended, then hit the jump and turn up your speakers.

- Breaking: Are you the 2013 SRT Viper?
Filed under: Coupe, Performance, Dodge, Toys/Games, Design/Style
As is the way these days, Chrysler has begun an achingly slow striptease for the 2013 SRT Viper, with zoomed-in closeups and shadowy shots that are difficult to glean much from. But just as they did during your childhood, Hot Wheels may have a quicker way for you to get your hands on the Pentastar’s super coupe. The hyper-pixelated image shown above appears to be the 2013 Viper wrought in diecast 1/43 scale. Reportedly from a poster showing the toymaker’s 2012 line of vehicles, this could just be our best look at the big snake yet.
While the wheels appear to be exaggerated in typical Hot Wheels fashion, the greenhouse and the long hood all seem to fit what we would expect for a new Viper, including an aggressive hood that appears to have at least three vents. The gaping lower fascia and headlamps look to be new forms as well, and if we squint a little, the roof looks like it could be a double-bubble. If this image is correct, it would seem to be clear that Chrysler has not forgotten about the car’s heritage. Will it be modern enough while retaining the Viper’s stock-in-trade rawness? We hope to know more soon.

- Video: Latest Ken Block video is drift-free, full of laughs
Filed under: Motorsports, Videos
Ken Block might not be the world’s best World Rally Championship driver, but he might be the sport’s best entertainer. The Gymkhana superstar knows how to rack up YouTube views with jaw-dropping stunts and a panache that most of us can only dream of.
Beyond the jump is the latest Ken Block production, but instead of the real KB, we get funnyman Nick Swardson dressed up in full Block gear. Swardson pokes fun of Block just about every way imaginable, and the real Block sits in disguised as the interviewer.
It’s hilarious, and you can watch it after the jump. We’d watch it again, but we’re too busy looking for Ken-chantment cologne on Amazon.

- Video: Chris Harris + M5 + GT-R. You’ll want to watch this
Filed under: Coupe, Sedan, Performance, Videos, BMW, Nissan
Pitting the Nissan GT-R against the all-new BMW M5 is ridiculous. They’re two different beasts in two different classes with two different purposes. It’s a cynical, SEO-optimized comparison. And even worse, it’s already been done. But…
We can’t help but post on it. Not because it’s clicky or that a few of us have man-crushes on Chris Harris. No. It’s because watching the two cars being flogged back-to-back on a damp circuit demonstrates how technologically sophisticated each one is and how they go about putting the power down so differently. You can actually see the GT-R – traction control switched off – trying to right itself as Harris flings it sideways, while the M5 slackens and goes neutral while the turbocharged eight responds like a naturally aspirated mill.
Scary with a capital “F?” Indeed. But just as educating as it is entertaining. See for yourself below the fold.

- Prepare to spend all your money on these movie-car posters
Filed under: Etc., Celebrities
If you’re trying to weather the lousy economy by being fiscally responsible and not splurging on crap that you absolutely do not need, please stop reading now. Because if you like movies, cars, and movie-cars especially, the wall candy offered by MovieCarPosters.com will have you reaching for your wallet before you’re halfway through the photo gallery.
These posters are ridiculously cool. Each combines a vehicle silhouette with iconography and color themes pulled from the films and television shows said rides starred in.
In addition to the stuff you’d expect to see, like the BTTF DeLorean, KITT, and the Batmobile (Barris, Furst, Animated, and Tumbler, at that), you’ll find killer posters paying tribute to films like Better Off Dead, Big Trouble in Little China, and The Cannonball Run (two varieties), plus TV shows as varied as Arrested Development, Initial D, and Firefly. Gamers, you’re represented as well. Even Bronies get some love.
You can browse all the designs in the gallery above. Can’t figure any out? Head over to MovieCarPosters.com, where each has a signature quote listed as a hint. (Face it, you’ll be going there anyway to place an order.)
What’s great is that there’s room for so many additions to the series in the future. For example, we’re suggesting that Kojak’s Buick, Priest’s Eldorado from Superfly, and the APC from Aliens all get posterized.
Any suggestions of your own? Sound off in the comments. Likewise, if you place an order, let us know which posters you picked up.
